UPNA Health Sciences has worked for 3 years with iAR in Augmented Reality

The Hospital Complex of Navarra (CHN) has started a collaboration project with the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) for the use of augmented reality glasses as support for the surgical instrumentation tasks of Nursing.

On May, 3rd the first test on Hololens augmented reality glasses was carried out in the CHN General Surgical Block to facilitate the surgical instrumentation during an intervention to implant a partial hip prosthesis.

For three years now, the Faculty of Health Sciences of the UPNA has been working together with the Navarre company iAR on innovative solutions based on augmented reality in the field of Nursing.

Leticia San Martín, one of the promoters of this line of research from UPNA, highlights the commitment to expand this type of resources to Nursing, resources which have been initially emerging in the field of Medicine, and whose first results have now been qualified as “very positive”
